Privacy policy
The app
NASBar connects directly from your computer to your NAS, your router and, if you set it up, Home Assistant. This data is shown in the app and never sent to me or anyone else.
Passwords and tokens are stored encrypted on your computer (Windows DPAPI). Settings, history and the log stay in %APPDATA%\NASBar.
Away from home, the connection goes through your own DDNS, VPN or QuickConnect address, as with the NAS web interface in a browser. The NAS maker’s privacy policy applies to its relay services such as QuickConnect.
NASBar has no telemetry, no analytics and no crash reporting.
Update check
Every few hours NASBar downloads a small version file from nasbar.app. The request contains the app version in the User-Agent header and, like any web request, your IP address. Nothing else is sent.
License
Your license key is checked on your computer, without contacting a server.
Purchases
Licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and processes your payment, billing address and email under its own privacy policy. I receive your name, email and order details so I can send the license key and answer support requests.
This website
nasbar.app is hosted on Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and loads nothing from other websites. Cloudflare may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site.
